Oligo: Setting a new standard for Runtime Security
Redefining a category to match a transformational vision
Oligo specialises in stopping threats deep within the application layer. Their platform provides unmatched visibility into how code actually behaves while it’s running, catching the risks others miss.
As the business matured from startup stage to a serious market contender, they reached a pivotal moment. They wanted to shift from being one of many application security tools to establishing a distinct position: next-generation runtime security focused on the application layer.
But their messaging wasn’t landing. There were several different definitions for ‘runtime’ in the industry, Oligo’s unique differentiator, visibility at the application layer, was getting lost in the noise. They weren’t guiding audiences to understand how they were transforming the category.
The challenge: reinforcing leadership
To close the gap between where they were and their aspirational vision, we identified key hurdles:
- Moving beyond the startup: Transitioning from an early-stage aesthetic to a more sophisticated security brand.
- Owning the category: Solidifying their position as the only player offering deep runtime visibility at the application level.
- Speaking to the C-suite: Broadening the appeal from dev teams to include CISOs and SecOps leaders.
- Cutting through the industry “purple”: Breaking away from the crowded, dominantly purple, tech startup visual space to find a unique, authoritative voice.
Our approach: sharpening the edge
We started by gathering key insights from Oligo stakeholders and exploring the competitive landscape. The ingredients for a category-leading brand were already there, they just needed sharpening.
Our strategy focussed on three key areas: clarity on what made them special, a brand identity and visual language that gave them a distinctive and memorable feel, and bringing it all to life through a new website.
The leading concept:
‘Alive and Alert’
Oligo’s real-time protection is dynamic, in-depth and reactive; it’s ‘Alive and Alert’. This concept captured the energy of apps in motion and the split-second precision required to stop an attacker in their tracks.
The visual identity is designed to feel in constant motion. By utilising channels, cropping and composition, even static elements appear to move. We traded the tired, cliché glowing motherboards and server rooms for photography reflecting the natural world, bringing organic energy to the fore.

What we delivered
- Research, positioning & a strategy aligned with our findings
- A new, more sophisticated motion-inspired brand identity
- A strong visual language that includes bespoke imagery and a modular system of blocks and layers representing how Oligo protects applications at depth
- A complete overhaul of the website with conceptual design focused on high-impact motion and clear storytelling
- Extensive brand guidelines to ensure consistent future use and application: logos, typography, colours, textures, patterns, iconography

The Impact
The result is a brand that finally matches the ambition of its founders. The new identity provides a consistent, sophisticated language that works for everyone from engineers to CISOs.
By moving away from generic tech tropes and embracing their bold vision, Oligo now has the strategic and creative foundation to lead the runtime security conversation for years to come.
